NEW YORK, Feb. 11, 2005 — The International Communications Industries Association, Inc. (ICIA), producer of InfoComm International, the largest conference and exhibition for the $19 billion professional audiovisual and information communications industry, is projecting record numbers of exhibitors and attendees at the Las Vegas Convention Center, June 4-10, 2005. The Show is expected to attract 25,000 attendees from more than 70 countries, showcase more than 700 exhibitors in 350,000 net square feet of exhibits and special events, and feature more than 200 educational sessions, surpassing all previous milestones in its history. Trends

Attractions reflect the growing use of digital signage in retail and corporate settings, custom residential systems, and security, among other trends. They include:

  • Themed Pavilions: These demonstration areas are dedicated to streaming media, home theater, digital signage, lighting, audio and presentation products.
  • InfoComm Command Center: Multiple technology applications are featured in one media distribution center, picking up audio, video and data feeds via IP from the Show floor.
  • The Large Venue Display Gallery: InfoComm is the only show in the world where attendees can compare leading projection and display technologies for sports arenas, concerts and other large events, showcasing vivid color, high definition and high resolution
  • Residential AV Courses: For the first time, InfoComm and CEDIA have joined to offer training at InfoComm for professional AV companies entering the residential market.
  • AVolution NextGen Home: This home of the future uses cutting-edge technologies, from advanced control and display to home-theater and home-office applications.

InfoComm offers training to stay current on AV technologies through:

  • InfoComm Academy: The association presents over 100 technical and business courses for beginning, intermediate and advanced levels, and certification testing.
  • Special Interest Conferences: Six conferences are brought to InfoComm by its partners:
    • EduComm, for those focused on AV in the classroom, offered by University Business and District Administration magazines;
    • Projection Summit, where business professionals learn about display technology trends, delivered by Insight Media and McLaughlin Group;
    • Interactive Multimedia Collaborative Communications Alliance's conferencing technology and application conference for systems integrators and end-users;
    • Church Production Magazine's Technology Training Tour giving instruction on AV in worship;
    • Beyond the Cineplex, covering digital cinema applications in business, from Digital Cinema Report; and
    • MCA-I's Pro Track for communications professionals such as producers, directors, writers, editors and web designers.
  • AVolution Technology Tours: AV technology in action is demonstrated at four state-of-the-art facilities in Las Vegas including the Fashion Show, the University of Las Vegas, the Wynn Resort and Cirque du Soleil's "O."

The U.S. Department of Commerce is supporting InfoComm 05 and 06 by promoting the Show to overseas attendees. InfoComm was selected for the program because of its export potential, international interest, U.S. exhibitor offerings, stature and overseas marketing efforts.
