ROCKLEIGH, N.J. — Crestron and wireless giant D-Link announced their premier partnership that leverages the companies' complementary market and technology strengths, making wireless control and automation simple. D-Link drivers will be embedded in the firmware of Crestron's UPX2 Universal Presentation Solution and Isys i/O touchpanels to communicate seamlessly via 802.11g. Wireless connectivity with Crestron touchpanels is truly plug-and-play using D-Link hardware. Drivers do not need to be downloaded, and hardware does not need to be configured; users can simply power up, and they're on the network.
"We always look for partnerships that add value for our dealers," said Chris Wildfoerster, Director Business Development for Crestron. "We have found that many of our dealers depend on D-Link products for their wireless communications due to their reputation as a high-quality manufacturer of robust network devices. This partnership with D-Link demonstrates Crestron's commitment to providing our dealers with outstanding products and support."
"This partnership creates tremendous additional value for new and existing Crestron customers, as D-Link provides reliable, easy-to-use networking products with flexible system features," said Tom Paterniti, Senior Director, Business Development for D-Link. "By providing drivers embedded in the Crestron firmware, D-Link adds value for end-users and simplifies setup and configuration for the installer."
