SMART Board 800 Series Interactive Whiteboard
Teaching and learning become exceptionally natural and collaborative experiences with the SMART Board™ 800 series interactive whiteboard. It enables two users to instantly and easily work anywhere on its surface at the same time, so lessons are more hands-on and interactive.
Feature availability: The SMART Board 800 series interactive whiteboard supports multiuser writing and common multitouch gestures currently recognized in Microsoft Windows 7 and Mac Snow Leopard operating systems. SMART Notebook collaborative learning software will support certain features, such as freestyle interaction, touch gestures and full object awareness, upon the release of updated software (SMART Notebook 10.7 software), expected by March 2011.

The multitouch capabilities of the 800 series enable two users to use their fingers or a pen simultaneously on the interactive whiteboard surface to write, draw and manipulate content in SMART Notebook collaborative learning software. With the 800 series, two users can work together on lessons at the same time, while completing different actions, like moving objects or writing in digital ink.
The 800 series uses DViT (Digital Vision Touch) technology to identify when a user switches between a finger, pen and eraser. A user can also write with a pen, erase with a palm and move objects with a finger, without having to press buttons, access on-screen menus or replace tools in the Pen Tray.
The magic of touch
Touch becomes second nature with the 800 series. The interactive whiteboard features touch gesture capabilities, so you can use simple, intuitive hand and finger gestures to toss, rotate or zoom in on objects or access other applications on your Windows 7 or Snow Leopard operating system. You can also independently write with a pen, erase with a palm and move objects with a finger. The magical touch experience of the 800 series means interacting with lessons is natural and easy – there's no need to access on-screen menus.
